Region: Yirgacheffe, Gedeo Zone, Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples’ Region (SNNPR), south-central Ethiopia. This high-altitude region is celebrated worldwide for producing vibrant, fruit-forward coffees with exceptional clarity and sweetness. The combination of rich volcanic soil, abundant rainfall, and traditional farming practices creates ideal growing conditions.
Farm / Washing Station: This lot is processed at the Konga Washing Station, managed by the Konga Cooperative under the Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (YCFCU). Smallholder farmers from nearby communities handpick ripe coffee cherries and deliver them to the station. Here, the beans undergo a meticulous natural (dry) process, where cherries are dried whole on raised African beds under the sun. This method enhances the coffee’s fruit complexity and sweetness.
